One order of operations for starting a startup

What you'll get

Michael Seibel's order for the first months: pick a problem, build the simplest version that works, and get one or two customers before anything else; around the ten-minute mark he says most ideas don't need an incorporation to try. For a service business the entity can wait, but a state license, if your work needs one, has to be in hand before the first paid job.

Do this week

Sort this week's paperwork into what blocks your next client conversation or paid job and what doesn't, and move the second group to later unless the state requires it before you work.
