What you'll get

For massage and bodywork: the board's application page says anyone practicing massage and bodywork therapy for pay, part time or full time, must be licensed, with narrow exemptions for some energy-based and movement techniques, and that you buy a $20 online application and wait for review by staff and sometimes a committee. The board's fee schedule, revised April 2024, lists a $150 initial license fee and a $150 establishment inspection, so confirm current fees with the board and read its establishment page if you plan to own a studio.

Do this week

List the services you plan to offer, check each against the page's description of who must be licensed, and email the board about any technique you think may be exempt.
