Path to a Patent, Part VIII - Common mistakes and post filing support
Video from USPTO. Watch on YouTube.
What you'll get
The last session of the USPTO's eight-part series covers the mistakes that most often get a patent application sent back, including how the written description and drawings must be formatted, filling out the application data sheet, signatures and the micro entity form, and then what happens after you file, including office actions and why rejections are a normal part of the process. At 76 minutes it is long, so watch it, or skim its slides, when you are about to file a regular application, not while you are still deciding whether to patent.
Do this week
From the session's slides, write a one-page checklist of the rules for page format, drawings, signatures and the micro entity form, and use it to check your application before you file.
