North Carolina's economic development partnership lists what the state and federal governments ask of a business with employees: withholding registration with the Department of Revenue, unemployment insurance, workers' compensation from three employees, reporting new hires, an EIN and the I-9. It leaves out one rule: North Carolina employers with 25 or more employees must also use E-Verify.
