Got to Be NC Membership Information
This lesson is a guide published by NCDA&CS.
Read the guideWhat you'll get
The state agriculture department's membership packet for the free Got to Be NC brand: the benefits, who qualifies, the liability insurance, business email and website or social account it requires, and how to apply, with up to four weeks for review. It limits non-food products to a short list such as candles, wood products and animal-milk soap and says topicals, tinctures, oils, creams and salves don't meet its food or fiber definition, so most body-care makers won't qualify while food and drink makers should check it before applying.
Do this week
Check your product and business against the criteria list, and gather your liability insurance certificate, business email and website or social account so the online application takes one sitting.
