Body care and cosmetics
This lesson is a guide published by FDA.

For body care such as lotions, balms and makeup: FDA's question-and-answer sheet says making cosmetics at home is not against the law, that FDA doesn't license makers or approve most products before sale, and that you stay responsible for safe ingredients and a label with your name and street address, not just a P.O. box or website. It also says natural has no FDA definition and that certain small businesses are exempt from facility registration and product listing, so read it before you order labels.
Do this week
Draft your label text with a real street address and a plain description of use, then check any health claim or color additive against the sheet's questions on drugs and color additives.
